No doubt a basic part of knowledge consists of elegant arrangements of various ideas, thoughts and observations of many individuals. However, it is unfortunate that some of these ideas have never been recognized for lack of expository skills, resources and various other factors. We believe that innovative ideas are the keys to the understanding of nature, and if they are properly communicated and popularized, they are beneficial to all of us. With these objectives in mind, Applied Mathematics E-notes is founded in August 1, 2000, and online publications of accepted papers start from January 1, 2001.
The Applied Mathematics E-notes is a fully-refereed electronic journal that welcomes short original research articles reporting interesting and potentially important ideas. Review articles are also welcomed if they provide important referencing materials.
No restriction will be imposed on the competency of the contributors. Although accepted papers are categorized by volumes, they are presented on the Internet immediately after they are accepted for publication. Full-text access to all papers is available for free from our Web site http://math2.math.nthu.edu.tw/~amen/ so as to reach the widest possible audiences.
Notes to Contributors
Papers limited to eight typed pages will be considered, provided they are not under consideration of publication elsewhere. Three copies of an article should be mailed to the Editor-in-Chief together with an accompanying .ps or .pdf file saved in disk or sent to the e-mail address of the Editor-in-Chief. The reason for sending the hard copies is that some of our referees may not have the modern devices for processing your manuscripts.
All submitted articles must be accompanied by an abstract that summarizes the principal new results obtained.
After your paper is accepted for publication, you will be required to submit the TeX file. Final formatting matters will follow, and publication will then be immediate.
All papers should be written in English and conform to the LaTeX format. There will be no page charges except in the case when the author cannot provide an electronic file with appropriate formats.
Call for Referees
Refereeing of papers will be carried out. However, we will locate referees who are willing to make suggestions and/or take an active part in the papers they read. The names of the referees will be listed (with their permissions) as they play an important role in monitoring our knowledge processing system.
We believe that a well-recognized article is the result of not just the author's efforts, but the referee's as well. Therefore, we are in need of anyone who is interested in serving as a referee. As a referee, he will make suggestions as well as comments, and perhaps become a joint author if important contributions can be made. Under the last situation, the revised paper will, of course, go through another refereeing process. But the resulting paper is hopefully a better one, and is better off for our readers.
With their permission, we will also list their names as appreciation for their help and services to our mathematics community. Please contact the Editor-in-Chief by sending the names and specialties to the Editor-in-Chief.
Call for Posters
To promote communications among the interested groups, authors are welcomed to submit their preprints of articles or books for posting and circulation. You can submit an electronic file in either .dvi, .ps, or .pdf formats to the Editor-in-Chief. It is understood that the preprints will meet a set of minimal standard requirements, and it is not against the will of any other parties to post and circulate them. As soon as the copyright has been transferred, it is the responsibility of the author to notify Applied Mathematics E-Notes that his preprint be withdrawn from free access.
Thank You
We sincerely hope that everyone finds use in our accepted articles and appreciates the efforts of the authors, the referees as well as the managerial staff for trying to make this journal a success.
